Last year we had days where our takings were down 90%!!! Very expensive. Some we made up later, some we did not. We are in the sunny south and the council have never heard of grit and salt.

It's us being disorganised-but I think we will have to organise ourselves better. The weakening of the Gulf Stream is scientific fact-so we will end upwith the climate suitable for our latitude-the same as bits of both Canada and Scandinavia-scary and also very worrying when one thinks of the effect on animals

Walked into work this morning in snow gear (cross country skis would have been the most suitable transport) - I think this will be the story all week. All my first hours appointments cancelled, my colleague is attacking todays very exciting ops list of er, a cat spey. Insurance forms all done, phone calls up to date. Roads seem to be clearing so think this pm will be better, otherwise it's a day of looking for a new snowboard on the internet!

Amazing how we come to a standstill - can any Canadian/Scandinavian etc. members tell us if they have similar problems or is it just the UK being disorganised?

Last January was supposed to be the worst winter since 1963. If you guys have another one just like that, I'm going to really complain to someone about this global warming schtick. :p

Nope, neither did I until today! We had it too and I did not believe my nurse who called me at 8.30 from Crieff to say the roads were impassable and she had seen/heard lightning and thunder with the snow. I later revised my belief as it happened here in Blairdummond!

I do sometimes wonder if global warming is just a political tool, each side will find the statsitics that suits it's agenda. Of course one of the effects of global warming will be the weakening of the Gulf Stream so our winters will get colder - maybe it's already happening. However I read yesterday that the rate of warming is decreasing because of increased pollution reflecting sunlight, it wasn't so long ago that I read that decreased pollution is causing increased temperature.
