I would appreciate a translation of his latest letter in the Vet Times because I am struggling to understand most of it.
May be I am a little simple or perhaps

Re: Need to boost profits? Most of vets I meet are keen to make to make animals better while making a living to keep family and sole toigether

Re: Need to boost profits?
I am sick to death with people like Mr Watkinson telling me how rubbish I am.He must be referring to me because I am a veterinary surgeon and he lumps us all together.

I have no time for covering up for people who practice badly but the vast majority of us work hard and do the absolute best we can.

So if Mr Watkinson has any specific cases or members of the profession he would be kind enough to name then he should.Otherwise perhaps he should keep his self serving sermons to himself .

I am all for freedom of expression but some people need a good smack not very politically correct but I obviously lack Mr Watkisons eloquence (just got to check the spelling!)

Re: Need to boost profits? It seems that a great amount of this is going on from a lot of directions.

This is a great shame that our profession has fallen in some peoples opinions despite the fact that the majority of the members are caring, conscientious, honest and bl**dy hard working.

I find the rather daft opinions of a tiny minority of our profession especially frustrating as they seem more grounded in ignorance and self-promotion.

Re: Need to boost profits?
All I see is someone playing Devil's Advocate. What's that saying: Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.....?

Re: Need to boost profits? I think Mr. Watkinson's problem may be that he mixes up his irony so closely with his straight talk . However, it was clearly on the usual general theme of how wicked we all are in making a living out of ill animals (as wicked doctors make a living out of ill people, and grocers make a living out of hungry people..........) and how particularly wicked we are if we encourage people to have pure breeds because they have more illnesses and make more money for us. I think most of us would have some sympathy for that view when surveying a Shar Pei or considering the horrible things that have been done to the modern Bulldog or the modern German Shepherd Dog.

I was also puzzled by the following letter from somebody anonymous. I'm inclined to agree that someone has pissed on what used to be a decent sort of profession, but I cannot make out if the someone he has in mind is the same someone I have in mind.

Re: Need to boost profits?
