Is it any more worrying than the government being responsible for reducing the consumption of tobacco and alcohol?

They have a far more immediate and greater need to maintain tax and duty revenue than the possible much larger future improvement in the nations health through reduction of consumption!

It may seem wrong, but if one chooses very carefully from the range of convenience foods on offer at Macdonalds it is actually possible to have a reasonable meal; They are at least moving slowly in the right direction....................

Did anyone see the Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution USA on 4 recently about him trying to improve school meals in the US? If you think Clive's story is slightly disturbing, this was far more cringeworthy. It will probably still on 4 on demand if you didn't see it, worrying what the US thinks is 'ok' for kids to have in school.

I think it has potential to be quite clever, no amount of campaigns by government is going to encourage enough people to stop eating Big Macs to be a successful in the longer term. However engaging with MacDonalds may encourage them tolook at their products and improve them, this may well be useful. Previously a MCD health campaign saw salads being offered that were worse than the burgers. Engagement would hopefully prevent this.
