Looks like a very sensible program. Nice to see something positive about vets that is still realistic. Hope all the clients watch it! They will learn a lot!

Dear Michael,

To answer your points;

1) The clinic where we do the initial consults is in a barn but it has all the kit we need, including an anaesthetic machine. (Not that I did any surgery there)

2) Now, I am going to remain calm, clearly you lead a very innocent life. I am not at work (where I do wear make-up as well), I am on national TV! Of course I am going to make an effort, as would any self respecting girl. Also, I wear my stethoscope around my neck most of the time in 'real life', otherwise I lose it and the nurses shout at me.

Watched it on 4 OD. Initially thought I would hate it, as it seemed to be the veterinary version of the trruly deplorable 'Embarrassing Bodies' programme. Didn't like the silly title and some of the slightly 'wacky' vets and batty owners - in fact when I saw trailers for the programme I had presumed it was a spoof/comedy show.

However, by the end I had changed my view, as it did actually carry some good and sensible advice on responsible pet ownership. Overall - OK for the target audience.

Yes, it is me on the show!

Obviously our target audience is not vets but it was really important to all of us involved in the show, both vets and the production, to keep the profession onside and show us in a good light.

The show has a really strong responsible pet ownership message, we have a big neutering campaign (highlighting the health benefits and the over-population issues) and are also running a 'fat camp' as well as dealing with the clinical cases.

No wasn't the tx - was the lab aspect "wart" and the sarcoid article about separating horses and interpretation of literature (having read most of the sarcoid research literature of recent years) and also having worked at Liverpool Uni in the path dept - my pathology bias there sorry Just me being pedantic - from an owner POV I think it would have been interesting and informative Perhaps I should be more charitable and less critical [gets off soap box]

I only watched bits of it, but was pleased to see that the cost of the op, (that I assume you Cat are the same Cat in the programme?) performed on the greyhound was mentioned. I thought it was good and highlighted some common conditions, so people might be encouraged to come and see us because they now know treatment is available, even if you (Richard ) might choose to treat them differently.
