I'm just in the process of putting our new site together. I've ended up going with a company that we've used previously simply because they did the old site, we know them etc. Can't say I've been particularly impressed with their service so would have been nice to have some alternatives. I am absolutely sure that this is a very important part of any modern practice. The number of email enquiries I get every day from my old site is evidence of that. A good professional job can make the difference between a site that people come back to time and time again, something that is just visited once to get the client to come to the practice all the way down to the previously described off the shelf drug company types.

I say go for it!

I think it depends on the individual - I built our practice website (with some advice from Arlo) and other people have done the same. There's a thread on here about practice sites. However many other people would want someone to design it for them, either because they are unable to do it themselves or that their time is better spent in other ways.

Lots of practices have an off-the-shelf site made by a drug company such as Novartis that is little more than a homepage and would benefit from upgrading. If there isn't a market for it there ought to be!

My bosses have just paid a company to re-design a very out of date practice website, which is now amazing. So i would say there is a market for veterinary website design.
