Does anybody have the 'inside' line on this? Is it going to be days, weeks or months. If they can't supply

Re: MScan II rotors.

Another update; got a nice 'phone call from the MD of Woodley last week and a letter this morning. The problem, apparently, is with the rotor manufacturer in the states. Woodley hope to have some VET 16s this week and will fill the gap wit VET 7s pro tem; your local Woodley rep should be able to keep you abreast of developments.

Rotor shortages last week, now vaccines :(

Re: MScan II rotors.

Useful to know bob, thanks.

Re: MScan II rotors.

Good service but just be careful if you are tempted to go for their machines. The deal we were offered that seemed too good to be true was! We would have been contracted to pay hundreds of pounds each month for consumables for five years!!!!! Much more than we order at the moment.

I am sure many practices are very satisfied with Idexx but we nearly made a very expensive mistake as this was missing from the quote for the equipment we wanted but was in the quote for the set up we were not interested in!

Re: MScan II rotors.

An update ... if it could be called an update.

Woodley can't say 1) Why there are no rotors in the country 2) When there will be rotors in the country.

The MD who was supposed to 'phone me yesterday from BEVA (where I imagine he's selling the MScan II machine!) hasn't bothered.

The 'phone and fax lines of the French company who make the machine have been engaged for two days (off hook?)

Apalling service from Woodley ... however ... I 'phoned IDEXX yesterday, they have despatched a machine (arriving today) which we can use for the duration, now that's service.

WELL DONE IDEXX

Re: MScan II rotors.

Thanks all; no bob the QCR rotors are quite different; I had a QCR machine years ago but i found the rotor failure rate way too high; the MScan II is actually the old Dupont Analyst in a new box, ironic really as it was the first biochem analyser I bough way back in 1995! dated technology but 100% reliable - until a french company bought it and 'improved' everything; plus ca change.

Re: MScan II rotors.

Just googled pictures - the rotor look similar but probably not the same. May be worth checking with QCR though. Don't be put off by the sometimes slightly 'off' attitude on the phone - the reps are generally very helpful (even if they are not selling you something!!!).

Re: MScan II rotors.

I hope Woodley have a very good explanation for this!!!

Just a thought - I don't know the MScan but are the rotors from the VetScan (QCR) the same? The haematology machines they supply are the same as the older ones supplied by QCR.

Re: MScan II rotors.

Do a Google and try some of the Asian/Indian suppliers. Am not sure where the MScan is manufactured but little of this type of equipment originates in UK these days. Also, many manufacturers diversify and distribute their stocks all over the World including Asia. They might even be cheaper from abroad, and almost certainly from USA. Trade distribution agreements might seem to limit supplies from other countries but if the recognised local agent/distributor cannot supply...........?
