OMG. PMSL!!!! It has to be a wind-up, but as someone currenlty going through the house sale/ house purchase nightmare I will only say one thing: GET OFF MY GARDEN!!!!

A long, long, time ago two very agitated, dishevelled young women presented themselves at an afternoon surgery. They wanted me to drop everything because their dog was ill and wouldn't eat its biscuits. They lived a hundred yards up the road. I asked them to sit down and finished off surgery then accompanied them, walking, up to their house.

In the kitchen was a very stiff and smelly Great Dane lying on its side with biscuits hanging out of its mouth.

I confirmed the girls' fear and they disintegrated. It was 3 in the afternoon and they told me they'd just got back from a party to find the dog and the biscuits were from the previous day. It was a Thursday and their parents were away on holiday.

Then they told me that their parents had been worried the dog might die so they had already dug a hole in the garden, before they went on holiday. I went out side. There was a hole about 3 feet by 3 feet................................................ in a raised bed about 9 inches deep. The cadaver was stiff with legs in extension.
