RCVS PSS promises the public that they "Go behind the scenes so you don't have to", but obviously they don't do so in a "Panoramic" fashion.
The PSS is a voluntary system

Re: Regulation of PSS Practices
I was under the impression that most corporates subscribed to the PSS and because of professional H & S, legal teams back at HQ were the most likely to be able to tick all the boxes?
I agree, but believe the reasons to be slightly different. It suits the companies to have a framework whch isn't their own, so the sell to the clients and staff is that it is independent of the company.

So what happens to the PSS if you "discipline" a practice belonging to a much larger organisation?

Fair enough Mr S, but I think you know what I'm talking about and are you sure you want to go there, just at a time when RCVS/PSS/Corporate harmony is desirable?

Perhaps I should clarify what I mean and I think you'll recognise it in the sentiment expressed as follows - [RCVS] see it as unfair on the individual who might be put in a position of deciding between offending his employer (job security) and an investigation by RCVS (possible 'striking off') and whilst this is a situation that can arise in any employment situation the RCVS cherry pick Corporates and have an ambition to insist that a non MRCVS employer/owner of a practice complies with the Guide or at least does not require its employees to break 'the rules'.

Thus, RCVS are being selective and stigmatising - smearing - Corporates. RCVS are inconsistent in their approach. They are not being drawn on whether they feel the same about vets employed by RAVC or Defra for instance or in traditional vet-owned practice for that matter. They are not even telling us how they will deal with practices - rather than individuals - in those practices which have volunteered to be regulated - PSSers.

Is that any clearer?
