OK - as of last night, you are not subscribed automatically to every thread you contribute to. To get email alerts, you need to click the 'Subscribe' tick box below the reply box.

I am ed - thanks for the suggestion - dunno why I didn't think of that. But unfortunately it isn't that simple to do, and there are other things I have had to prioritise (chiefly developing a new system which allows you to review an entire thread while replying, and not just the post you are replying to).

Good suggestion that changes the 'default' status. I try to check in at least once daily to view progress on threads in which I am interested and see what other topics have come on-line. This is not particularly onerous because I do it as part of a 'sweep' taking in a number of sites and I prefer it to a deluge of e-mail.

Well, I like the automatic 'send me comments' feature. It's easy enough to filter comments into a separate folder in your email programme and delete the ones you don't want. And if it becomes a real pain there's a link to the thread on each post - you click that, scroll to the top or the bottom and click 'stop sending' - no big deal.

That will be a definite improvement Arlo. Sometimes in my haste I forget to clear the tick box and, like Gillian, then receive a flurry of e-mails that I do not want want. My fault, I know, but sometimes positive action is better than default.

phew - thank goodness for that! I had to stream them into a separate folder as they cluttered up my inbox - meaning I didn't look at them anyway!
