That is higher than annual fees for degree students.

Apparently this is in part due to the change to a single award effectively halving the funding available to vet nurse training.. nice move whoever came up with that!

Anyone know what other training vnacs are charging?

Or they can still go day release, but have to do 3 hours of self-directed learning in p[ractice each week to make up the necessary hours.

There was a meeting at Myerscough last wednesday which covered the new scheme very comprehensively - including the equine component. It will all be covered in the college in their own stables, so doesn't add any burden onto the student or TP.

My colleague Sally Everitt is the one to ask about this. Our experience of Moulton as VNAC was an interesting and fairly frustrating one. In the end our student VN qualified with a merit but this was despite her "training" at Moulton - mainly due to her own hard work and Sally's mentoring. Much time spend -( forgetting about the dreaded portfolio!) - correcting sub-standard error-strewn teaching and course notes delivered either by VN's with little in-depth knowledge and experience or vets whose first language was not English. I can't say I am sad to hear of its demise.

We are aiming to use Warwick.

Have you seen new scheme and the requirement that small animal tvns have to do equine handling and management including catching leading, grooming hoof picking etc I have been to several meetings on new scheme and at no point as anyone mentioned this.Don't think we'll be training our own trainees anymore but will use degree stuents from Harper Adams on sandwich year cheaper and less hassle
