I use National Tyre Centres and get Barum tyres - made in Czech Republic but owned by Continental. German technology at Czech prices. I just struggle with corrosion inside my alloys leaking air, drives me mad but that's 10 year old cars!

I found KwikFit to be slightly cheaper than Blackcircles if you order and pay for online.

In the end a Peugoet main dealer priced matched, always pays to haggle a bit.

Always fit Michelins nothing else, great tyres, great in the wet and wear really well although they are pricey.

Certainly not. I'm all for it. In fact, wish I'd known about this a couple of weeks ago, after I misjudged the, er, racing line round a corner just outside Ansty and shredded my two offside tyres against a very low wall.

£400 quid later, or should I say lighter...

I use the following website for tyres, they give you a good choice (about 10 - 15 tyres from between £40 - £100 each for my Ford Focus) each with reviews etc.. You can get them delivered to be fitted at a garage of your choice or have them delivered to a franchised garage to be fitted. You pay over the site and there is nothing to pay at the garage if you go for that option (works out only a few £ more if fitting is included).

I've used them a few times and been happy so far...

You should ask them if they can fill them with helium instead. That would reduce the weight of the car and improve your MPG even further.

In addition, if you're bored you can put your mouth over the valve and inhale to make your voice go squeaky.

peugeot 207 diesel.

This particular chain that fits tyres quickly offers it for all tyres fitted to ordinary cars.

However, I tend to side with one of the people who has commented under the story, that nitrogen filled tyres don't stop you having to check your tyre pressures regularly, and that if you do that with air filled tyres, there is no efficiency benefit switching to nitrogen. And as for corroded rims, what a load of old rubbish.

£2 per tyre. I am cynical I know but I immediately though - load of BS.

I am told it is used in some high performance racing cars and some larger aircraft flying at very high altitudes. Although my peugeot has cruise control, it rarely gets above 40,000 feet.
