What kind of things do you use it for?
Am thinking of getting a small van, would mainly be for visits but am thinking the benefits would be a nice white van with sign writing, drawing peoples attention

Re: Pet Ambulance anyone?

In our small animal practice all 4 vets have practice vans because we often need to move animals between branch practices. All members of staff are able to drive each van, which is handy if an animal needs collected and there aren't any vets free.

I use mine for moving animals and orders between branches, trips to the dump, shopping, moving DIY stuff and furniture - the list is endless!

Re: Pet Ambulance anyone?

I am an assistant not a partner so can not answer the cost effectiveness of it.

We have an ambulance, it has the practice details in big letters all over it. It spends most of its time parked in the car park next to the major road - good advert. I must add it is a Seat Inca van, R reg so it itself is worth nothing but has only done 30,000miles so is very reliable.

Its most common role is backup car for any member of staff when their car is out of action, moving stuff between houses, doing the dump run etc. As a mixed practice it is very useful to have a backup car in case of breakages. Ocassionally it picks up dogs to bring them to the practice. As we all do mixed work our cars are stocked with everything we could need but if its a big dog PTS then we sometimes use the ambulance.
