Apparently it has been there for several weeks. The camera is not hidden but is small and very unobtrusive which is why I hadn't noticed it. Some might say, typical employers reaction, but many years ago I was bullied. The boss was not the problem, and I would have welcomed CCTV because it would have meant he would have known exactly what was going on, rather than having to try to adjudicate between two conflicting stories

As an employer, I am very tempted to install it in one of my practices. We occasionally have money going from the till - including exactly £20 last Friday - and although we strongly suspect someone, there is absolutely no way to prove it. It is just as frustrating for the other staff who are unable to prove that it isn't them.

My opinion? If you aren't doing anything wrong....what's the problem?

maybe you should contact the police? they may be able to set a secret cctv, or put some form of invisible marker on all notes to catch the crook.

I'm with you, in that I don't do anything wrong so would not be bothered by them. However the initial posting alledged the possibility of using cctv for harrassment, this would surely be illegal and it would be wise to seek legal advice on the matter.

One of the emergency clinics I once worked in had a cctv camera outside above the front door. we were able to view clients with their pets before they entered the premises, a good safety/security measure and sometimes interesting to see their behaviour. useful.

I was once able to conduct a consultation via cctv. The dear gentleman was threatening through an intercom to use physical violence against the staff in the clinic so I had no intention of allowing him entry, the police were otherwise engaged and unable to attend, and as I could see the "collapsed" GSD was running around and jumping up at the walls I deemed it not to be an emergency so could send him packing.

Re: CCTV and employees

As an employer, I am very tempted to install it in one of my practices. We occasionally have money going from the till - including exactly £20 last Friday - and although we strongly suspect someone, there is absolutely no way to prove it. It is just as frustrating for the other staff who are unable to prove that it isn't them.
