Hi Kate Richardson ... I've spent the last 24 hours having a huge spring clean, and giving the site a lick of paint.

Mainly because it was looking a bit tired in places. It used language more appropriate to when I started the sites, and similarly a font that was chosen when you could only have one of 8 websafe fonts!

Main changes:

Navigation verbiage tightened at the top
Description of the site (why join) on the logged out home page reworded completely.
Icons used in the titles (the animals) regenerated at much higher resolution
Font changed to a more modern one, and font sizes / weights changed in various places around the site to improve readability
Forum heading / post form simplified
Redundant buttons removed from title bar.

Erm, that's it at the moment.

Discussions / debate / community was all part of that. I'm not wedded to 'Debate', and I can switch it back to Discussions in the flick of a buttton. I like the succinctness. I think the nav at the top is looking tidier with less / shorter words. Is debate angry? It certainly can be. I suppose you're right, it does have a perhaps more adversarial vibe, whereas discussions is perhaps more evenly balanced. I guess the most important question is which is likely to draw more people in. That's what we need!
