Bsava formulary under fluoxetine lists under drug interactions not to mix with phenothiazines due to seizure risk? It's based on a 1950s study in human using phenothiazines at 5x + the recommended dose in order to try and induce seizures.

So the "don't use in epileptic dogs" nonsense still taught is just that. There's even some vet studies into acp showing it doesn't make dogs have seizures.

Price was reasonable to me that I would still expect to use them (often only small number of tablets at a time per dog) and shelf-life variable with size of pot, I got Feb 2027 with a pot of 100 does me fine (we average 50 tablets per month presently).

The fallacy that they were inappropriate because they allow dogs to experience fear but not be able to respond to it was always a really odd claim and they don’t cause the ataxia and changes in behaviour that gabapentin does .
great for long journeys where nausea a factor and other situations too.

They seem to be like the modern day pred with new grads - the behaviourists have gotten to them and told them they are the spawn of the devil and you mustn't use. I liked them for so many things (inc fireworks.....), nothing as good orally for a nasty dog to PTS. Suspect sales plummeted in the last 20 years - you'd need a great PR campaign and some rebelief that they do, like the data sheet always said, reduce anxiety........

RE: ACP tablets?

I liked the tablets but if might not be coming back guess time to look at alternatives.
