I just worry that one day I'll come in on Monday, everything will be warm and all I can say is that it was ok on Saturday morning and everything ends up in the bin.
main issue is fridges being opened and the air temperature rising for a short period (and this being logged on a data logger) whereas the actual fridge contents won't have warmed up. You can get thermometers designed to avoid this as the probe is in a pot of liquid so models more the reaction of a vaccine eg vial https://www.thermometersdirect.co.uk/eti-thermaguard-pharm-vaccine-thermometer.html (or put the external probe of a normal digital thermometer in an small bottle of water/glycol

RE: Reccomended temperature monitoring?
Maybe we need to go back to writing it down in a book, daily.
That's what I would advise.

A little notebook will cost you about a pound and your pen will probably be free.

RE: Reccomended temperature monitoring?

From the standards manual
There must be proper monitoring and recording of maximum and minimum temperatures wherever medicines are stored, and where temperatures have been recorded outside the appropriate ranges, there must be evidence of an action plan to remedy such deviations, and to deal with affected medicines. Consideration should be given to the use of alarms to indicate when temperatures stray out of set parameters.
Data loggers and maximum/minimum thermometers will provide constant monitoring. However, for those without an alarm to warn of temperature deviations, and for maximum/minimum thermometers, checks are required to be made daily and assessors will ask to see written records, produced on a weekly basis, showing the results for the week.
Ideally temperature sensitive medicines should only be taken out in vehicles on a “by use” basis, but whether being stored or transported, measures should be taken to ensure that products remain within the temperature range specified on their SPC e.g. by use of a cool box or refrigerated unit. The suitability of such measures should be demonstrated.
I read that as "you don't have to have a data logger, but if you do, you must download everything weekly"

Maybe we need to go back to writing it down in a book, daily.

RE: Reccomended temperature monitoring?

Our last VMD inspection favoured Bluetooth or WiFi loggers.
