Please can I ask for opinions on the processes used in other practices?
As a practice we have an existing health care plan for annual boosters and regular flea and wormers prescribed by a veterinary surgeon at a check up appointment

RE: Looking for thoughts, pitfalls and opinions on Home Delivery Plans.
seems like some one said would you like to give away a share of your profit and we will give you less control more complexity and some extra paperwork ? yes please
and clients coming into the practice helping bond them to the practice, maybe buy their food or other supplies from you at the same time? who's liable for the extra costs if it goes missing in the post? surely postage now comprises 10% of the what the clients are paying for the service, and I assume they aren't charged extra for this so another hit on the bottom line?
the cynical businessperson might also suggest that the % of clients who never collect their full annual allocation of flea and worming treatment makes these plans more financially attractive to offer?

RE: Looking for thoughts, pitfalls and opinions on Home Delivery Plans.

I understand we should only certify that which we know to be true how do we know that a dogs weight therefore dose and also "lifestyle risks " have not changed dramatically in the intervening period . my guess is by calling it a prescription you the vet are liable , if they called it a requisition form then they would need a prescription separate otherwise they would be responsible for dispensing a prescription med without a prescription and they would be liable . by making it a prescription you are accepting the animal is under your care and you have taken responsibility for providing any 24 7 back up needed you have accepted the role of keeping an audited trail, of paying for and having a medicines inspection whilst someone else who hasnt spent 5 years in vet school and isnt paying this cost off over the next 10 or12 years walks away with a significant share of what should be your profit plus your clients data to sell on whilst you remain the non virtual person they can access face to face when theres an issue that isnt in your remit such as the goods going missing .

not directed at you personally at those who agreed to this
