Vet Times used to be my go to for CPD advertising but only online access now, so again have to go looking rather than having hard copy lying around.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, sounds like the Congresses are not super relevant at the moment... And it sounds like the way forward is to do a bit more work with google, it seems! We do have a lot of personal recommendations (roughly 20% of the vets that show interest in taking our courses) but maybe I can do a little more work here. We're just started recording video testimonials, so I think that's going to help sharing our cause :)

One follow up question - how many people still flick through Vet Times when it arrives in practice?...

Very nice to hear this feedback! :) It's great to know that the training has a positive impact in our students but also in their real work!

To answer your second question, we are not running the courses in the UK (yet? ;) ).

Wouldn't search for it but might be attracted to it if I bumped into it. Not sure that would justify the cost of the stand. Personal recommendation, google, adverts in veterinary press, probably in that order

No, too general and for the exhibitor hugely costly! I am very suspicious of people that have stands at congresses and meeting.

Word of mouth is still the best!

I had a vet, who did one of Andreia's courses (a 5 day practical course on ultrasound) and came back and could find the adrenal glands in a healthy cat. Starting from a very basic level of scanning experience (albeit a very competent young vet), I was obviously impressed at the training she had undergone. No idea how she found the course though!

(She was Portuguese and combined it with a trip home, so perhaps Google and a Portugal connection helped her find the course independently)

I think word of mouth probably works best - often the best practical courses tend to be the least well advertised in my experience, however I would also suggest sending information to the corporate groups who sometimes send things out to their clinics - testimonials from previous attendees probably helps.

Are you running ultrasound courses in UK similar to that 5 day course in portugal?

I just use a web search. i think there's a list I usually see they has something to do with RCVS (of courses that aren't run by the RCVS).

I'd personally be less likely to look into it at congress because I tend to aim for talls that have products I want to see in person. Anything education you sort of know what you're getting, so unless you're able to set up a really good demo, live advertising isn't going to provide anything above what I can see about it online
