The pattern here could be based on the increasing number of sides, but the circle disrupts a simple numerical progression. Since the circle can be seen as a placeholder representing "no sides" or an "infinite number of sides," let's look at common geometric shapes that fit logically in a progression...

RE: How many adjectives in this sentence?

The answer is clearly hendecagon

Poorly conceived question, because there is more than one correct answer.

Would only one answer be accepted as correct, or would any correct answer be accepted. This is more a test of memory rather than intelligence.

Fish - has scales, has to live in water, cold blooded

Only a cat has fur and a purr.

Only a fish is cold blooded and has to live in water.

Only a bird has feathers and flies.

And that's just off the top of my head.

This would be a very good question if the answerer had to give reasoning, and judgment was on the reasoning , not the answer. But, if it's a genuine question (is it?), of course it won't be, it will just be marked mechanically by a tick in a box by an ignorant teacher.

It reminded me of the famous quote from a government report from 1921:

It is impossible at the present juncture to teach English grammar in the schools for the simple reason that no one knows exactly what it is.

Thousand is perhaps more correctly a numerical determiner than a numeral adjective. Similarly my is perhaps more correctly a possessive determiner than a possessive adjective, but you will not find it hard to find sources describing it either way.

A number as an adjective. Eg the Osborne book of English grammar 1990 p8:

All numbers are adjectives.

"Thousand" is the only adjective in the phrase "a thousand birds." Adjectives are words that describe or modify nouns, and in this case, "thousand" describes the number of birds.

But in

In the phrase "merry songs of a thousand happy birds, and drank in the pure air of spring," there are three adjectives:

"merry" describes the type of songs.

"happy" describes the birds.

"pure" describes the quality of the air.

These adjectives add detail and enhance the imagery of the sentence.

Actually with chat GPT it depends they way you are formulating your questions, so it makes it a bit unreliable, I wouldn't use it

Agree with Evelyn here. 4 if we discard determiners as adjectives (which is my vote) otherwise a lot. “Thousand” limits the noun in the same way that “my”, “our”, does, but it’s a longer word so it stands out more.
