&lt;p&gt;That was my conclusion, although I was confusing the SD with the range. Er ... I think.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That then raised the question in my mind ... were the erroneous readings reading-specific, or patient-specific. If the former, then they should a) stand out and b) be averaged out over time.&amp;nbsp; But if b) and this was the only device being used, then it could&amp;nbsp;be a real problem if it permanently told the user, wrongly, that their pressure was high or low.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Which again seems to raise the question about whether errors were user specific, or per reading. If it&amp;#39;s accurate for 2/3 readings, given it is taking lots every day, then outliers should be easy to spot.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Didn&amp;#39;t quite understand the relationship between SD and P. Can you clear that one up for me?!&lt;/p&gt;

In a classic bell curve one SD either way accounts for about 66% of population, 2 SD either side for 95%, so when we talking of a test or result with P = 5, the test has 95% chance of falling within expected range.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So for 2/3 subjects tested or testing done, (1SD) results fell within the range of 3.9 and 3.6 mmHg either side of the mean value which would be pretty good for a bed side test&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

On average it does look accurate but if you look at the scatter plots then +/-25 systolic and +/- 20 diastolic could be the difference between being normal, ill or low! If it correlates with another meter then great, otherwise return it.&lt;/p&gt;
