Our antibiotic use is a fraction of what it was but perhaps can come down more. We have fewer choices on the shelf and it seems fine.

I don't have a particular issue with a suitably qualified pharmacist being able to prescribe in very limited circumstances. It cannot become antibiotics on demand as it is in many developing countries. If it continues to be difficult to see a GP then alternatives will be inevitable.

Jeez.

We should be making antibiotic drugs harder and harder and harder to get, not easier.

I don't know about doctors (though I have my suspicions) but veterinary surgeons, in small animal practice anyway, use far too much antibiotic.

A true move to third world medicine.

If I decide I want antibiotics when in Thailand, I go to the pharmacy. They generally ask which one I want!

Nice to see she has been happy to hand over 'spare' antibiotics to her friends that are unwell. Really instills a great degree of confidence!

I would be interested to see what list of conditions the pharmacist would be prescribing for. Bads colds or Flu?
