We Purchased some anaesthetic equipment from V.E.T.S. that does not work as it should.
A long story short, there seem to have been some intracompany challenges at V.E.T.S. This has resulted in Medical Equipment Services not longer trading

RE: V.E.T.S - Warranty not working....

Spoke with the owner of the ltd company as 1st port of call. He advised it was the employees fault. Tracked down and also spoke with the employee in question, he of course advised the opposite. Hard to know who is at fault here. Both seemed very plausible... Someone's being dishonest.. I guess fault technically lies with the ltd. company on the invoice at time of invoice. Which is apparently with a liquidator. At the same the director of said ltd. company trades under the historical trade name.... and the employee trades under a new name... grr

Thanks for the insight folks. :-)

RE: V.E.T.S - Warranty not working....

We have struggled a bit between Mediquip and Aniquip!

You may have some recourse (and clout) if the equipment is leased. Talk to the lease company!

RE: V.E.T.S - Warranty not working....

I’m pretty sure that the guy who comes to service our oxygen concentrator (sourced from VETS some years ago told us that some employees left and set up a very similar sounding company in opposition. I know we had calls wanting to do our servicing but we knew it was the wrong people as it was already done. I’d second speaking to the owner, they used to be very helpful when we contacted them.

RE: V.E.T.S - Warranty not working....

I could only find an inactive company under the V.E.T.S name at Companies House. This may or may not be the same company.

It does look as if the company may be doing a double glazing act by closing and re-opening under a different name (or a company running in parallel to V.E.T.S).

This is a very small profession and a bad service reputation gets around fast.

RE: V.E.T.S - Warranty not working....

Hi Glenn

they are still listed as an active company and thus still responsible for a warranty issued by them

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11022644/filing-history

perhaps you should have a word with Mr Clarke the sole

shareholder and director himself and if that doesn’t work then maybe a quiet word with trading standards as they have most teeth in these situations particularly if he is deliberately trading under a false name or continuing to trade when company is technically insolvent or dormant . I would also take a screenshot of his website as at present (1/7/2022) it still says the following :

VETERINARY EQUIPMENT TECHNICAL SERVICES (VETS).

Trading name of Medical Equipment Technical Services Ltd.

Registered company in England and Wales.

Registration Number: 11022644

good luck and don’t take no for an answer !

Kind Regards
