Two year sentence even if suspended is completely inappropriate for this sort of situation. There doesn't appear to be any obvious fraud unless there is a lot we do not know.

EU money is being misused right left and centre and this smacks of a poor, if not corrupt legal system.

Statute of limitations is longer than the average duration in the profession and soon it will be null and void when nobody is left to statute anyway

Statute of limitations will be a mute point in a few years time , there will be less of us left to police than there are those keen to police us.

Apparently that is what is happening here. They don't know how it's hard to find a job with an IDC rap sheet. They need to find better work do instead of stalking MRCVS for any wrong doings.

Well, exactly. I am not sure I'd want to be taking the family pet, poss with my daughter, to a vet that a) might think I was part of a satanic abuse cult, b) would think it was her business to do something about it (as opposed to the police), or c) might then kidnap my daughter at knifepoint!

I guess it's where you draw the line as to what constitutes an offence which brings the profession into disrepute. I mean, you could argue that any offence, even a speeding ticket, does that.

But for me, a minor financial / administrative offence which looks very much like a miscarriage of justice, nearly ten years ago, in another country, when the person was a student, and not even a vet, still less registered with the RCVS, would not meet the bar.

totally agree - this went above and beyond any semblance of "care" or whatever thing one might try and behind - it was total and utter bollox, not even suitable to appease the all=pervading public-interest stuff introduced bt Stace. Poor lass. Hoist by our own desire for self aggrandisement - as a (sad old) profession.

I think the use of any breaking of law / judgment of court that has nothing to do with your ability as a veterinary surgeon should also not be an automatic DC case. Remember the fellow (Maurice Kirk?) that hit his neighbour in a fight over the fence? Neighbour probably deserved it but then this latest kidnapping due to suspicion of satanic events….
