Things actually felt more dramatic the night before last. Probably because there was a slight change in wind direction. We lose trees down by the stream but they are only willows/ sallows that we should be coppicing anyway!

Justlike for Bob, Here in the Lincs Wolds we have a lot of damaged trees. the local Lincs. News forum has a lot of images of lorries vans and the like lying upside down in the Dykes in the Fens south of here!! Not funny at all really I guess?? Just today at about noon we've had very heavy sleet and snow! But it was forecast last night for getting up to 40cm snow which never arrived thank goodness! /But a bit grim only being able to see 200 metres out of the windows!

We had a very uneventful flight back, but I was quite shocked by the amount of storm damage waiting for us in the garden when we got back:

Not that dull here! Trees down everywhere except at home. There a few bits of plastic rubbish to go and collect!!

The top of the church spire blew off in Wells this morning (St Thomas', not the cathedral - was like the scene from Hot Fuzz but luckily less bloody!) so fingers crossed for your roof.

Storm Dudley took the roof off the building adjacent to the vet room at one of the two greyhound tracks where I work. Race meetings were cancelled today. I’m not sure I want to see what’s still standing after Eunice has cruised through…

I flew back from Madrid, turbulence was brilliant fun. A bit like a theme park ride (except for the vomiting passengers). Loved every minute of it and was a bit surprised when the plane landed to applause. I was under the impression that it is in the interests of the driver to land safely.

Went through Heathrow, got to the automatic doors and was nearly blown off my feet!! The bus journey to the car was enough to make anyone throw up and I nearly did!!

Turned out there was only one more plane landing after ours before they diverted.

Enjoy the thrill of the ride but be careful when you get on the roads!
