That's OK!

It wasn't a hugely expensive thing to enable, so it doesn't need many people to want it for it to have been worthwhile.

I'm sure you're right about it being at least seven years before GP vets have to market themselves again.

Meantime, there is a smaller group for whom I hope it will be useful, which is new referral practitioners who are building their client base.

Most vets dont want to be found. Quite often we get a phone call from some marketing agency. It seems arrogant to explain to them the last thing we want is more clients but currently this is definately the case. I cant see an increase in supply in the next 7 years Sorry

I let the clients research on referal practise. I cant keep up on who is where now or what the cost has increased too. Maybe useful on this count?

There is a big difference between google ads and google search. A google ad can fail miserably for all number of reasons (like being a shit advert!).

Nobody searches for a vet on Facebook. It's not a search engine. It's a way of communicating with people when they have signed up to follow you.

Facebook is an effective place to advertise, though.

Yes, and thank you for that, and it is very interesting, because it helps me understand the objections.

I think the biggest issue is the first point you made: that for the moment, perhaps a lot of vets don't want to be found! Not much I can do about that. But it wont always be the case. Also, these profiles will perhaps be of more immediate benefit to new referral practitioners looking to build a client base of referring GPs.

As to Facebook vs Google, businesses looking to market their services need a presence on both (I am talking about a presence, not necessarily advertising).

Yes I do. But surely no vet wants to reach EVERYBODY at the same time. Many don't want to reach anybody in the current climate.

I'm offering a very professional profile for all those people who search for people and things on Google.

And it is free, so why would you not?
