I think yes it is a formality to have such things and i cant think of anyone who actually reads them.

I was going to ask the same question. Was going to say that for our privacy policy, I think back in the day I googled 'privacy policy' and then adapted someone else's. Then I inherited one from Novartis when I bought VetSurgeon.org (which you are more than welcome to copy from this site and adapt for your purposes)

And then I remembered I used an online service, think it was this one: https://www.rocketlawyer.com/gb/en

I suspect privacy policies are read by a vanishingly small number of website visitors, and are there more to focus the website owner's mind on their responsibilities.

Are you storing personal information on the website?

You need a privacy statement but that's pretty generic

We take bookings through the site, but nothing actually sits there
