My VDS covers me for anything brought to UK affiliated courts but not for anything in local courts. Previously went out with WVS

RE: Professional Indemnity Insurance Abroad

Thanks Stephen, thought as much but just wanted to check.

RE: Professional Indemnity Insurance Abroad

It is highly unlikely any client in Tanzania would sue, and also highly unlikely even if they did that the legal process would move quickly enough to cause you any problems

The legal concerns we have in the UK are definitely first world problems, clients in Africa tend to be much more grateful and are certainly more civilised than some we encounter here

in addition the financial value of animals and the work done on them is much lower

However I can see why one might be concerned as having cover is a necessary fact of life here. It might be worth checking with the vets you will be working with to see what they do about indemnity cover - I would suspect they don't have it and would not expect to need it either
