sorry got lost in the mist. my MP got onto them, and I even got a telephone call, and a letter from super high up minister inHealth dept reopening my application. apparently my answers were too short?? so then 3 months later I got the invite to complete the training and I have finally submitted it, now awaiting my occ health thing. have you started and what are your thoughts?

my mp got it reviewed and I am now currently on hold just trying to complete the employment part of the darn forms

Patrick I wonder what on earth they weren't happy with. I got through apparently, and although tempted, I didn't ask vetlb's question! There's a lot of online training (the usual GDPR/fire/manual handling as well as for giving the vaccine), and I have an in person training day next weekend

They're recruiting through locum agencies. I looked at it, but it's full time so didn't pursue any further. This was two weeks ago.

VetPro recruitment was the one who contacted me.

For people with a bit of time on their hands and correct OV status, there's some quite big bucks on offer from APHA until March for this apparently.

out of frustration wrote to my mp who wrote to them asking them to review teir decision but nada.

I've applied through St Johns Ambulance- I'm not as far ahead as Ian and am awaiting my DBS check. Ian it would be great to hear about your experience once you get going

I applied on the 18th December through the NHS portal, listing myself as Dr. I also wrote to my local CCG. A month later and I've been accepted, done the training and I'm now waiting for my DBS check

Vets are not on the list because goverment needs us to do import and export checks on products of animal origin. Something to do with seamless exports I believe.

I had a look on the website a week or two ago with a view to signing on to do my bit - but it seemed very complicated - and as much recent publicity has demonstrated - highly bureaucratic and with a need for multiple forms/training - had to be signed off for everything from diversity training to fire safety - though I think they have bowed to criticism and removed some of those requirements now.

Anyway I lost the will to live and being ancient and in hi-risk group anyway decided it probably wasn't for me.
