Fine I guess if you are interested in a television museum (I am not) but the veterinary collection mediocre to poor.[/quote]

I can see what you mean. I went about 10 years ago and there was more veterinary things. I think it is more a celebration of the television series with a bit of information about Alf Wight. Mainly aimed at American tourists I think.

RE: All Creatures Great and Small.
I was in partnership with a quite similar character (now sadly not with us) who could be said to have taken similar advantage. The partnership was lively and not always smooth but it was never dull. He did things his way but I never felt the balance was unfair or uneven. The similarities are a bit spooky!

RE: All Creatures Great and Small. Better than the original series in my opinion. Evocative (for me) and Samuel West plays a more rounded Siegrfried perferctly. Excellent timing for the screening as we all needed some feelgood during Covid.

Recent critics of James Herriot totally miss that he was describing practice as it was in his time and his place. What we still learn from his stories are emotional intelligence, professional pride, compassion for clients as well as patients and the raw rewards of doing the job to the best of our abilities and becoming a respected member of a community.

RE: All Creatures Great and Small. Can we set up a collection of other such nonsense? I believe that the tail-tip treatment worked, sort of, by making the tail tip so painful on the floor that the cow stood up to remove the contact with the floor and by so doing, reduced the pain? threat"It has a kind of logic, but clearly has no relation to the serum level of calcium!

I do not think it very worthwhile checking this technique on somewhere like EntrezPubMed as I rather doubt that there has been any clinical research!
Yes! I thought the first episode was great. I was a bit concerned as to whether it would live up to the books and previous television series, but the production was fantastic and the actors were all very good in their roles.
