We would happily continue to employ the right person after the six month period. Our staff have all done animal nursing auxiliary training and/or operating theatre training (anaesthetic monitoring).

Looks like a good scheme, essentially 25hours/week apprentice funded by the government.

You can apply yourself if you can offer 30 places, or use a representative if not.

Now, which organisation is ideally placed to be that profession's representative?

We were actively considering an extra staff member and this appeared interesting. The idea that it is restricted to larger businesses is going to be incredibly limiting. Joining a group of other employers strikes me as a nightmare. I suspect the extra costs will stop the scheme being worthwhile.

We are too small even if we were planning a new non vet member of staff. I can see how it would be useful for some practices though.
