Hi Julian - if you email me at sharon.cooksey@online.liverpool.ac.uk I will email you a word doc. version of the questionnaire - if you would like me to calculate the scores for you, please return to the same email with your answers indicated (my pilot respondents put an x by their answer) - I will then send back your scores...but as I am no expert in either EI or engagement I wouldn't attempt to interpret them for you... engagement is reasonably straightforward but EI is a different kettle - as I learn more I realise that one all encompassing highly emotionally intelligent archetype is not necessarily right for all roles/ activities (Daniel Goleman's theory - which is said to be a myth by other EI scholars!!) - so even if we might score low in one or other of the EI factors - it need not be a problem if the job description doesn't need performance in that area. What I would really like to know is what factors make for strong and resilient vets who really enjoy their work and do well every day - if you haven't seen them before the engagement questions - if they can be answered in the positive, sound like where I would like to be/ work Thank you for your comments

I would like to have answered this survey out of general interest but because I am not in practice now it has rejected me. ~Understandable but I like this sort of thing.

Please do participate if you can - I need more than 242 complete replies to reach an acceptable error rate (5% or under) and to achieve statistical significance. I am currently over 100 short and I would like to make this work count and be of use to our profession Many thanks again for your time.
