So far, I have not officially relaunched the website (ie made a big song and dance about it) because I felt there were still too many glitches for me to be able to do so. For me now it seems to be on the corona virus thread, and for that one each new message is being sent by email.
I was discussing last unread thread with the devs (developers) last week, before the coronavirus really hit the fan, so to speak, and I got diverted!

I need to double check, but they tell me that the reason the last unread thread appears to be further ahead than you actually are is that it only ever took you to the last unread page. And now it scrolls to the bottom of the page and puts a blue marker on the last post on the page, which is sort of misleading.

I thought I remembered the system used to take you to the actual post on the page which you last read, and I need to test this on vetnurse (still on the old system).

Either way, if devs are right (and they usually are), then best thing is probably for me to remove the blue stripe and make the continue reading start at the top of the page you were last on.

Strange, when I type the symbol followed by my name, it shows. Another trick is to go to the member's profile page, look at the web address, and you'll see their username. Sometimes that works better (it's unique). If it doesn't display, that probably means they have disabled tagging.
That's plausible (other colleagues reading posts). Only way to check is to log out religiously and see whether you still have the same problem. Which is a pain!
I am getting the same problem since the upgrade, and I do always log off after I have been on vetsurgeon.

RE: SITE UPDATE 24th Jan 2020
Arlo Guthrie I’ve noticed when I select last read on a thread, it often takes me well past where I actually have read, sometimes to the end.
Joyce Whitehead Could you check something for me next time. When you click 'continue reading' on a thread where you know you have a few posts to catch up on, and it takes you through to the page, is it taking you to a post marked with a blue stripe on the left hand side (the last post indicator), or is it taking you to somewhere you have to scroll up to get to the thread with the blue marker?
