Probably too late now but I like the strong colours of the fourth on the second row. Simple but strong and colourful.

I agree with Michael. I think the ones you like a re too fiddly and fine - I don't think they'll be as easy to differentiate on a phone screen.

My pleasure! It takes a surprising amount of work ... the devil one to represent mischievousness, for example, or the tongue in cheek. No such ones in the collection Michael And Thomas picked out, so I had to take one out of the collection, remind myself how to use adobe illustrator and draw in some horns, or a sticky-outy-cheek.

Nicola Cole Looks like it is taking the underlying shortcut used on your phone and using that to display the corresponding emoticon graphic stored on this site, which is interesting, and I didn't know it worked that way. So what I need to do now is look at the shortcuts, so it uses the new ones.

Definitely possible for phone to put an emoji in a forum post: - although they look subtly different to what would come up when used in a text message.

I didn’t actually see what the cost was in the pictures-i was imagining a lot more than that! Definitely worth it so those using computers can use them-wouldn’t be the same without the smiley faces!

I like that selection. I'm sure that all of us emotional people can find something to suit out of that selection. Better than effing and blinding it for example if upset?

I did wonder!

Actually, I wondered where that actual graphic came from, because I disabled thumbs up from the system emoticons, and as far as I know, it's not physically possible for your phone to place the actual graphic in a forum (but maybe I am wrong about that).

Actually, these are not bad, $15 or something. But yes, it is so people on computers can emoji things as well as all those people on phones that I thought could not!

Was just checking whether the emoji button on phone would do one (in the old format it wouldn’t).

It was mentioned above they were expensive. Could you not just use the ones already on phones/iPads etc? Or is it just so people on computers can emoji things as well?

I really liked the old ones. Specially the banging head one. I never seen in social media another one that expressed frustration at others point of view (or your desperation of explaining things well enough) so well.

The other emotions that I always find difficult to express online is sarcasm or being facetious.

I'm thinking you may need glasses as well as the hearing aid, they look fine to my 37 year old eyes ;)

2nd on top row the best IMO. 3rd on top row ok. Or if you want simple, first on 3rd row.

Yes, the various collections contain a wide selection of different emojis/emoticons. I just meant that as a broad style, the very simple line drawings convey less character or emotion (to my eye, anyway), than something a bit more detailed or off-beat. Hard to put in words exactly what i mean!

The six in each box are just examples. Some of them have 70 or more in the full collection. I am just looking to see whether anyone has any preference with the various general styles. Looking at the old site, we had emoticons for:

I think these can be consolidated somewhat, and have marked with an asterisk the ones I think are required ...

Thanks Arlo, I guessed irt wasjust for demonstration when you d said that you re still working on it. I think the overall styles are good though. If anything there are too few! So now 'll have to try and recollect ones that I've needed but not had in the past. They do enhance an already excellent site Arlo!
