That's a fair idea Arlo, can I suggest you approach the members service committee? I think there are plans for a new one, but I"m not sure how far on they are. BVA committees use glasscubes which is not as good as this forum for a flowing discussion.

Could easily host a BVA Discussion group here, when the site is upgraded.

The VR is now published by the BMJ group (medics) and, on the whole, it's been a good move. The editorials seem to have freer rein than in the past (no disrepect intended) and tackle more potentially difficult areas. The BVA usually get a section within the record. A deficeincy in the BVA is the lack of anywhere as a discussion forum, the one on the website being poor.

I was very surprised to find out recently (as I am not a BVA member - we can discuss that if you like ) that the Veterinary Record is not the voice of the BVA - then what the f**** is its purpose? Does the BVA publish a news and information source that is the the VR?

Go for it and good luck. I enjoyed my time on BVA council, usually learning a lot in the process.
