So then I thought: 'why not have a Thought for the Day' where anyone can post any (veterinary) thought they think deserving of sharing. Max one per day in the thread.
Jeez, my mother used to say that always, everytime, whatever and wherever, there was any major behavioural transgression, by anyone, of any gender, of any age, of anything, anywhere!

RE: Veterinary 'Thought for the Day'

A thought, from the late author Roger elazny, awriter of SF and fantasy bt often with poetic , even philosophical passages in his books. My lifetime favouriteauthor.

One exanmple of this is : It would be nice if there were some one thing constant and unchanging in the universe. If there is such a thing, then it is a thing which would have to be stronger than love, and it is a thing which I do not know. Dedicated by me to my wife for her love and support since 2012.

Also this one in which he describes my crash!! Life is full of doors that don't open when you knock, equally spaced amid those that open when you don't want them to. I guss that I encountered a door opening suddenly in that race and crashed straight through it?!!

Finally, a more humorous one to lift the mood perhaps?

While I had often said that I wanted to die in bed, what I really meant was that in my old age I wanted to be stepped on by an elephant while making love.

Enough said methinks!!?

My thought for the day is; its actually more stressful operating on other staff members dogs than your own, especially when it's a revision surgery and he turns into a wimp afterwards.
Dx: stubbornly positive. In love it!!! My wonderful consultant neurosurgeon at Hull said thatit was helpful to him if hs patients were stubborn, so I duly obliged! I almost said bloody-minded, but that is probably a terrible-taste-pun about my head injury and the multiple brain haemorrhages?

I had the crash at about 7.30pm on 8/8/12 Then, last night, being the seven years anniversary at 7.30pm I was racing again, flat-out towards the end of my usual Thursday evening timetrial, so was flat-out for the finish. In contrast to seven years ago when I was quite literally flat-out on the ground then in the ambulance on my way to intensive care! It has been a long seven years but I think being stubborn has paid off in the end! I set my fifth best time on the usual course last night which was a fairly good way to mark the date! I fully intend to mark the date every year by racing if I can!

RE: Veterinary 'Thought for the Day'

[quote user="Bob Russell"]

I have to say I have found all colleagues polite and pleasant. I cannot think of one that has not treated me with respect (at least to my face!) and many have shown kindness and support when it has been required.

I certainly neglect friends and family using the partially true excuse of work and home pressures. Despite this I have no doubt they would be there if I was in real trouble!

I am not the best vet in the world and some must think me anything but, however I try to behave professionally at all times and have found others do the same in return.

This may be a struggling profession at the moment but it is full of decent and nice people by and large

|That is a very positive and generous thought for the day Bob. 10/10.
