If you're sentimental try "Waltz of the Angels" by the Deraillers if you're not anything by them or by Jerry Jeff Walker...............

PS "The Last Waltz" tells the whole story; very funny, historical [Jack Ruby] and entertaining.... "and then a fight started" [you'll find out]!!

Ah - Holiday Songs.........

Caravanning in NSU site at Lido de Jesolo, a beautiful, well manicured example German efficiency with its own Adriatic beach - and over the road was a quintessentially continental cafe-cum-dance bar with, oh joy of joy, live music nightly. Back in 65/66 at 17yo it was a magnet and the song of the summer was “Piccola Katy” by i Pooh - I kid you not - who are still in existence, still singing it. Catchy, with a great slow quiet middle bit just made for getting a smooch in. I’ve even been known to perform (a version) it at our local acoustic session near Hay.

Another that brings back happy memories is Paolo Conte - Via Con Me. I went on a TNR trip to Italy when I was a lot younger and don't know if this was in the charts or not but everywhere we went we heard it

[/quote] I do like a bit of Nightwish and saw them at the Glasgow Academy a few years ago. Don’t think they played this one though. Songs in first jobs. Anytime I hear that tune by Nik Kershaw, “Wouldn’t it be Good” It takes me back to listening to the car radio while driving to farm visits in Fife many moons ago. PDSA in London was “Relax”, by Frankie Goes to Hollywood then “I don’t want a Lover” by Texas was back to PDSA in Glasgow, all pinned into the memory banks.

Didn't really enjoy this piece of music the first time I heard it. Was warned it would have to grow on me as it was our 2017 display music (aerobatics). Cannot hear it now without lots of happy memories but if anybody can explain to me the significance of the tin bath because I have never fathomed that one out. Nightwish, Sleeping Sun

If we're talking about first jobs.... Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" was on the radio all the time. One of the bosses, as we were on our way to a horse castration in his car (Triumph Stag, but that's another anecdote) said, without rancour, "Hmm, this could have been written about my wife".

haha when you get into a vehicle in that game the ”radio” plays. There are a few stations you can listen to. On that station there’s also Africa by Toto and Sister Christian by Night Ranger.

That particular song takes me back to a great holiday in the Norfolk Broads with a group of old friends many years ago, when none of us had children, responsibilities or houses, and sang it repeatedly for some reason (possibly related to the alcohol consumption...)

I love Echo Beach, by Martha and the Muffins, takes me back to 1981 and a series of 21st birthday parties with university mates.

Ah, T in the Park! We went every year from 1996 at Strathclyde Park until 2002, when it started to get a bit neddy! (and husband refused to go after the downpours of the previous years!) Good times! Acts I remember best were Pulp in 1996, Stereophonics in 1999 and The Prodigy (can't remember the year?) Although we missed the first ever year, one of my friends brought her boyfriend's band to our house afterwards (they had played the talent tent). Famous quote from my ex-boyfriend "You'll never get famous with a name like Travis"
