Now that they've been around for a bit longer would anybody be willing to give their opinions on them? We currently use Robovet but my practice is very small

RE: Cloud-based practice management systems

We just ran both systems together for a while as it meant we could update [and correct!!] errors and omissions as we went along.

It only costs the new box and monitor, it's DIY therefore nearly free, and was flawless.

Horror stories of names and addresses off by one or two on data transfers put us off.... and the cost, of course.

RE: Cloud-based practice management systems

Interesting. We are in the process of changing from NVS' Vetcom Open to Vet-it. It is proving troublesome because of transferring over some data namely species, breeds and reminders and is causing a lot of anxiety. I believe Vet-it is an independent outfit but it is NVS who are trying to get us to switch systems as there is a connection between them so given we already use an NVS system you'd think it could be done fairly seamlessly but that doesn't appear to be the case. We also had a problem printing labels when using the trial version it just comes out in gobbledygook. How did you resolve that issue?

RE: Cloud-based practice management systems

In my experience it is more common to have server issues than broadband. And broadband issues tend to be fixed faster.

RE: Cloud-based practice management systems

Trouble with cloud based systems is that you are at the mercy of broadband working fast and 100% reliable. There can be breakdowns and lag as every key stroke is on a long journey. Local servers are much cheaper than previously can be faster and more reliable. Back up of data over the net can still be achieved.

RE: Cloud-based practice management systems

We changed from robovet as costs had risen massively, approx £10 k to replace server plus couple extra users, unsustainable. We use vet-it, some problems printing labels from wifi connected computers, nvs chap was supposed to sort, never did. Easy to log in from home or app on phone. Very nice to work with, intuitive and stable. It has some integration issues, for example on HS but not NVS, Idexx but no other labs but I like it. Good price
