I'd be a bit wary of an older machine - the image quality is possibly going to be poor - and learning ultrasound is one heck of a lot easier if you can get a really decent picture.

My practice bought one of the very first veterinary units marketed - way back in the '80s . It was a bit disheartening really as the diagnostic potential was severely limited by the quality of the image.

Modern units are in a totally different league.
