I wouldn't expect the people who disagreed to like or thank.

Agreed, the one person who agreed might not have felt it necessary to like or thank, and from their point of view, perhaps like or think is extraneous.

Then again, there are lots of posts already where someone has liked or thanked and not agreed or disagreed.

I disagree: thanking someone is entirely different to agreeing or disagreeing.

And thanking each other is absolutely fundamental to my latest efforts to encourage more participation from more people. Watch this space.

I think you could lose the thank yous and the likes and just have agree or disagree.

I think it is a great idea - sharing knowledge/experience/ideas is very helpful. Being rewarded is motivating
