Any of the cheap Ebay ones worth considering?

RE: ECG machine

Cheap one off eBay are fine; this is all I have ever used. I do not set to auto mode but manually adjust so a get a trace that fills the page. Check you can still get the paper - the 3 leads on a trace a much cheaper paper wise than the 6 leads on a trace.

I do not find I miss having a screen for continuous monitoring - the multiparameter anaesthetic monitor is better for that and most cats get bored after a while and then you need to look at holter monitor. As ECG are really only accurate for arrhythmias and not looking at chamber size then a simple one does fine.

Hope that helps.

Or consider the kardia device. Might be a bit too big for some cats but links to smartphone, lead 2 trace, cracking piece of kit.

RE: ECG machine

We have a Nihon Kohden Cardiofax, I think it was around £1k about 10 years ago. It is a single lead at a time trace with no display but automatically changes lead if set to auto! We only use leads 1,2,3, AVR, AVL & AVF but there are chest leads if you want and its proved very reliable. The one I had before lasted 20 years
