Our unit was from the Ark when we got it. Photon supplied it (ex-dentist) installed it and it has sailed through every check since!

Not pretty and has knobs rather than buttons but no desire to change it!!

I found the company that had the ex-army units. Looks like they have got something suitable at the moment and cheap too!

I had a refurbished unit from Photon at the end of last year for £1250 including installation and safety testing after the previous one broke after barely 18 years use (and was second hand when it was installed).

Worth asking them and all the other X-ray companies as they may have something hanging around. I was also looking at a company that supplied second hand ex-army mobile dental units that could be adapted to fit to a wall (I can't remember the company at the moment). They also appear at Hilditch auctions from time to time

I went for Photon due to the installation/safety testing and a (short) warranty although the other units were cheaper.

From a business seller but you must factor in an element of risk with second hand plus the cost of an engineer to check it over before use. Pretty sure this is the seller that we got our digital X-ray sensor from and that has been fine. Still buyer beware as with any secondhand sales.

Photon found our unit well over ten years ago and it is still going strong (touch wood). They are generally very tough and reliable machines once installed.
