After your comments, I think I might check them out in their current incarnation with Adam Lambert next time they come round our way. It will seem a bit odd because I saw Queen playing live 5 times in the seventies at the Glasgow Apollo and Edinburgh Playhouse and they are still some of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. However,I guess no band could actually be the same forty years down the line. Regarding the loos, even as a youth I tried to avoid that queue and nowadays deliberately aim for dehydration mode at concerts!

RE: Queen

[quote user="Clare Tapsfield-Wright"]

There is something very moving about thousands of people singing with one voice and Brian May on guitar is still spectacular. They even brought Freddie back digitally which was poignant as he disappeared into the ether . Although Adam Lambert is not Freddie he’s got an excellent voice and is full of energy to give a great performance whereas Brian May runs a bit like I do now, the spirit is willing but the feet can’t quite shift as fast.
Having a daughter who is in a band and listens to a wide variety of modern music which she has shared with me, my taste is probably more up to date than most sexagenarians! However even she realises that they don't make them like they used to and enjoys 60's and 70's rock bands and idolised Freddie. Neither or us have much time for modern pop and rap music but there's plenty of other great stuff out there. Other daughter is friends with a member of Ludovico Einaudi's orchestra, with his modern take on classical music, so we have a wide range of tastes. Mrs A recently went to a Take That concert but we've forgiven her for that! And we all went to see Crosby, Stills and Nash last year.

RE: Queen

[quote user="Rose Unsworth"]
