Today I saw it in the later “Vet Record” to give that journal it’s latest masthead used to describe the most recent

RE: “Forward Thinking”

We used an employment agency......

RE: “Forward Thinking”
Jobs looking for hard working or enthusiastic candidates - i.e. they are so busy and overworked you need to be superhuman to not burn out.
In the current climate, I think ads shouldn't talk about what they want from the candidate AT ALL. They should be talking only about what they can offer the candidate.

After all, the point of the advert is to get the telephone to ring. You can tell them what you want from them when you meet.

Well, since we're on the subject, could I have any other suggestions for terms job adverts should avoid so I can expand on this list:

Forward-thinking: meaningless
Very busy: without qualification, probably means understaffed
Must like chocolate/cakes: patronising

But now you mention it, this shows my understanding of the expression:

I have the experience of working in practices where their managers or partners show no interest on moving with times. I'm sure you might have (and might be sick of it) the expression: 'Because we have always done it this way' or 'We never had a problem before' when trying to move with times, going one step ahead of clients and staff expectations alike. How you might see practices around you moving forward while you find yourself stuck in a job where the highly of the day is counting drops because infusion pumps are too expensive & unnecessary.

In Lawrence vets we definitely are 'Forward Thinkers', and to prove it, we are soon expanding to a new theatre, new consultation rooms & trying, everyday, to improve the way we do things. We are not *just* building new rooms, we are getting together and discussing these improvements with vets, nurses & receptionists, understanding that often you need to listen to your colleagues to move forward. For our patients, our staff and our clients alike.

You want a job in the best practice ever? PM me!

RE: “Forward Thinking”

Well, since we're on the subject, could I have any other suggestions for terms job adverts should avoid so I can expand on this list:

in job adverts I think it means no old codgers saying “ in my day” .
