There is now a way to donate to help the animals affected in the BVI. An Amazon wishlist has been set up and can be accessed. The following is from Dr Sarah Weston MRCVS

Since the total devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in the British Virgin Islands, many animals have been stranded and are in desperate need of help. Some are animals at the now destroyed Tortola Humane Society, some are much loved pets who families evacuating had to leave behind and now need to be reunited with their humans.
Dr Sarah J Weston, a BVI vet, is leading an effort to get these animals to safe places and back to their families. But in order to do that, she needs travel crates and kits, food, medicine, and other items for them — things the island after destruction just does not have at all. That’s where you come in. It would be great if you could purchase an item (or a similar one) from the list and send it to one of the addresses below. From there, the angels at Three Sheets Sailing have kindly offered to take them across to Tortola by boat.

Thanks I'll pass that on. HSI and WVS are both now involved in helping out and I believe some help has now managed to get onto the islands. There should be a donation site up and running soon I believe once logistics have been sorted out regarding getting supplies out there.

May be worth getting in contact with the University of West Indies Vet School on Trinidad? Irma passed well North of them so they're unaffected.
