What the others have said is true. The RCVS system is one of self-certification and their definition of what is CPD is pretty wide and loose.

I teach some courses for a Veterinary Implant Company (Orthomed) and when we deliver these causes overseas we will often apply for RACE and similar approvals in the host nation so that delegates can claim their points. It is probably only a matter of time before our Glorious Regulator catches on and starts to exploit this potential source of revenue but for the time being, the UK system is free and easy.

Not at all.

Contrary to myth, any study of any sort that's remotely, even indirectly, to do with veterinary practice "counts" as CPD.

I am already registered to RCVS but those CE credits are the american version of our CPD (AAVBS=American Association of veterinary state board) but I don't know if they can count as CPD hours or not and if I should send a formal request to RCVS to get them approved.

Not 100% sure what the acronyms mean but ce/cpd does not have to be "approved" by the RCVS, just logged. (Or possibly in future planned, performed and pondered).

Unless this query relates to registering as an MRCVS with a foreign degree in which case I have literally no idea!
