The big recent update took about 10 minutes for a restart nothing more than that. The computer updates also seem staggered so no more than one or two update on the same day.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It would be worth trying the standard update route as Microsoft have not closed the update route completely. What they have done is to remove the annoying app that kept telling you to update to Windows 10.&lt;/p&gt;
