I'll make a tangent tomorrow if I find the time. But in short, the offer is no more than a cut date, there's nothing new (yet?). Even BritishInEurope organisation were not too optimistic when they came live a couple of hours later.

All our Windows 10 updates happen in the background and cause no issues. The big recent update took about 10 minutes for a restart nothing more than that. The computer updates also seem staggered so no more than one or two update on the same day.

Windows 10 does tend to hijack your choice of programs to open documents especially PDFs.

This may be something to do with the crap broadband download speed locally but as often as not I have to abort them to use the computer.

A useful tip I found for win 10 is to set your wireless connection to metered connection. This disables automatic updates. You can switch this off when you want to do an update at a convenient time for you.

Win 10 is a much better OS, but one caveat. If the nurse uses the trackpad smart getstures they may stop working and the drivers for it may no longer be avalable for that computer for win 10.

Yes, I would go along with that.

I thought 8 and 8.1 were dreadful. Always liked XP the best, but get along with 10 now

It would be worth trying the standard update route as Microsoft have not closed the update route completely. What they have done is to remove the annoying app that kept telling you to update to Windows 10.
