The £30k was my personal loan to the business, which I also got back - after some wrangling - but they refused to give me any interest despite terminating the JV contract against my will. (The business therefore had a £30k loan from me for 6 years interest free).

RE: Tangent - employees rights

I have never seen a copy of a JVP contract but I would guarantee the partnership is not going to be equal!

Quite shocking that someone with a £30K share in a business could be left with a £60 payout! Any partnership has an element of trust but is it a real partnership when your partner is a big business?
