Some years ago my assistant sutured a head wound after I bashed my head on an open window's frame She was impressed that I refused the local but I reasoned that forcing local between skin and bone would hurt more than suturing the wound. So it was done and my scar is barely visible,. She used Vicryl swaged onto the needle so a very small piece of kit. Disappointingly she didn't repaiir the shattered window as well!

RE: It's a stitch up
Not the kind of cars worthy of client interest and attention? A few years ago I had a silver Subaru STI type UK prodrive ,which came in for lots of stick about the gold wheels ,so learned my lesson to some extent, pick something that looks ordinary. Interestingly when it was new, clients thought I was making too much money ,but as it aged and got to 10 years old ,they still thought I was making too much money because I was not buying a new car every 3 years but craftily pretending I could not afford it and stashing even more away instead.
Had a visit yesterday from a local farrier who wanted to show me his new car, a Porsche Cayenne. There was a discussion about how a smelly farrier is driving a Porsche whilst I'm driving a humble Golf GT something or other. I agreed that this is not appropriate and how things should be and he offered me a drive down the motorway just to understand how wrong the situation is, which was nice of him. I'll definitely have to fix this. In the meantime I pointed out that I would never own a brown car even though he claims it is bronze, but am very happy for him to park in the car park. The more footballers cars there the better really.

RE: It's a stitch up
Prefer not to go above 35-40k if possible. No need to be flash, the clients think your making too much money from their misfortune. I remember one of the vets on the ill fated panorama programme about Medivet driving around in an SLK. T.V really focused on it.

Know what you mean though ,met a dentist this weekend, retiring at 44 to concentrate on his property portfolio and escape the terrible patients.
Yeah. vets realise that if the stitches irritate the patient attacks them...

Sorry, realised it's not the stitching; the wound's got "infected" so swab and culture.
