Who does really govern the UK? (And by extension, in very many parts of the West?) Politicians elected by voters' concerns? Or Politicians elected by voters who's main concerns are those dictated by the media?

I'm not sure there is a 'proper' sequel. But there's a book called '1985' and I would be immensely surprised if Suzanne Collins admitted of not having read George Orwell's best before writing 'The Hunger Games'. At least the first part.
