Just a general question. Has everyone out there
got their cabinets attached to the wall by rag bolts?
VMD inspection coming up and would like to know if our cupboard is appropriately attached.

RE: Controlled Drugs cabinet

We have had three break ins recently. The cabinets were fixed and remained in place, the door of two yielded, the other didn't

The ones that yielded had a design where the door closed inside the frame. the other had a door overlapping the frame.

VMD not too picky - more interested where keys kept and how they are used i.e. casual staff/client access is more their priority.

RE: Controlled Drugs cabinet

Yes it would need an explosive charge or a JCB to shift it but then it does double as a gun cabinet and the police have checked/are happy with it let alone the VMD!

RE: Controlled Drugs cabinet

Yes. Very firmly attached by bolts. They came with the safe we use. Great big hammer drill to make the hole!

It is a bit pointless having a good cabinet if it is not firmly anchored. It goes without saying that the determined will get round pretty much all security measures!
